Zenodo is an open generalist repository designed to store a wide range of research results, from datasets to presentations. It is open to researchers across the entire spectrum of scholarly research.

Transcribing ORCID iD into Zenodo records

1) Open the "Linked accounts" section of your Zenodo profile.

2) For ORCID, click on Connect.

3) A new tab opens, in which you will be prompted to sign in.

4) Zenodo will ask you for permission to view your ORCID iD. To enable this, click on Authorize access.

This link makes it possible for Zenodo to automatically transcribe your ORCID iD to the records you have created. However, records on Zenodo are not automatically uploaded to your ORCID profile as Zenodo is not authorized to do so.

5) If you want your Zenodo records to be automatically uploaded to your ORCID iD, you must set up synchronisation between your ORCID iD and DataCite – Zenodo takes DOI from DataCite. Instructions for setting up ORCID and DataCite synchronisation can be found here.
