ORCID ("Open Researcher and Contributor IDentifier") is a unique, permanent and internationally recognised identifier of persons involved in research and publication processes in scholarship. The creation and use of an ORCID iD allows authors from Charles University to unambiguously connect to and identify their publications, research data and other results of scholarly activity.
Authors from Charles University are obliged to enter ORCID iD and other scholarly identifiers into the IS Věda system under Article 19 (1) of te Directive on the Registration of Creative Activities. In order to facilitate the automated transfer of authors' publishing activities to their ORCID profiles, Charles University has prepared a system for the direct integration of ORCID and the OBD: IS Věda module.
If you are unsure as to whether you have an ORCID iD, have forgotten your password, need to create a profile, are looking for advice on linking ORCID and OBD, or are interested in linking with other identifiers, please see the signpost below:
Want to find out more about the ORCID international initiative? Visit orcid.org. Details of the activities of the ORCID National Centre can be found at identifikatory.cz.
The Institute of Computer Science has prepared instructions for the management of ORCID profiles and IS Věda for new and existing identifier coordinators (here, in Czech only). Coordinators can also utilise the shared SharePoint IS Science: OBD and Identifiers, where they can find news, guides, contacts for support, and other information related to identifiers.
Authors from Charles University may contact faculty identifier coordinators if they have any queries about the setting, functioning and interconnection of the ORCID iD and the OBD IS Věda module or other queries about persistent identifiers. The directory of coordinators can be found in the contacts (a link to the node will be added).
