This OASPA webinar will explore why open access to scholarly research matters beyond the university context. A panel of four US-based speakers will discuss who is actually using open content in the real world, how it is being applied in practice, and what is at stake when research is not openly available.
Against the backdrop of public debates about the value of taxpayer-funded research, the session will look at how open access can strengthen the information environment and act as a “force multiplier” in times of uncertainty and instability. Participants are invited to join the live discussion and bring their own questions and experiences.
