Research Software Engineering support is coming to Charles University!

Starting in October, a team of experts focused on supporting the development of scientific software, so-called Research Software Engineering, has been established at Charles University (find out more about it here). This is a service well established at leading foreign universities. RSE staff combine expertise from the academic environment with professional software development.

The aim of the team is to reduce barriers to access computational technologies and infrastructures for researchers across disciplines. We cooperate closely with the AI CUNI team, with the Centre for Digital Humanities and with the Second Faculty of Medicine. The computing infrastructure is provided by the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University. We are working on the first projects in the fields of humanities and biomedicine.

The services offered include: training in computational software, consultations during the preparation of projects with a computational/data component, implementation and modification of computational codes and protocols, assistance in using national computational infrastructures CESNET, e-INFRA, etc. Requests may be sent to by all units of Charles University in connection with current, long-term or planned projects.
